Day 7
Well, not sure how I managed it, but I did it.
After a lot of grumbling and groaning (along the lines of “BEDROOM WARM OUTSIDE FECKING COLD”) I pulled myself off of my bed—I don’t lie down now, that’s the key, I can sit on the computer for a little bit before I leave as long as I don’t lie back down—and got dressed and went out the door.
First of all, it’s fecking cold. AND I LOVE IT. Fuck, we finally got a fucking winter and it’s glorious, I’m so happy, I feel like all is right with the world again. I’m an Albertan, survival in the frigid temperatures of our winters is a point of pride, so sue me. My car started just fine after having been plugged in for the last 24 hours, so that was good, and thankfully I didn’t have to scrape it off, just brush off the two or three inches of snow. Got to the gym, unloaded, and jumped on the treadmill…and I did it!
Granted, I had to put my run time down to 6.5 mph for the three minute intervals, and even further, down to 6.0 mph, for the five….and I had to stop and take a couple breathers during the second five minute interval…but I still did it! I am SO tired now and exhausted, but excited, because this is actually going to be manageable and oh, yeah, doing an extra 6 minutes of running is going to mean excellent calorie burn. I can have leftover turkey pot pie for lunch guilt-free now!
Not sure what I’ll do tomorrow, because I don’t want to burn out on Week 4 but I also have a day to make up. I might just drop back and do a Week 3 day, and then finish Week 4 on Thursday and Friday…or maybe even go to the gym on Saturday and do my last Week 4 day then. Not sure, we’ll see how I’m feeling.
Right now though, I feel good. :3
I’m going to start tagging these entries with c25k as well, in case anyone out there is on the same journey :)
